About the Alameda Summer Art Fair & Maker Market

Purpose:

The Alameda Art Fair and Maker Market exists to bring Alameda and Bay Area artists together with the greater community. We create a very inexpensive way for local artists to expose their work to adults and children in Alameda. Artists are encouraged to create artwork during the fair, so the attendees can see artists in action. This helps support a vibrant and creative community.

Who we are:

The Alameda Summer Art Fair is organized by ARTPUSH a non-profit arts organization in Alameda that runs Studio 23, Friday Open Studios and several other community art-focused activities.  See artpush.org for more information.

Alameda Artists

The Alameda artists group is an organization composed of over 2000 local artists and run by local artists. We host monthly events including the 2nd Friday Alameda Art Walk (aka Open Studios), monthly “Make Art”, and “Grant Writing” meetups. We also offer workshops and special classes. All of our classes and events are open to the public and all are welcome.

Studio 23 Gallery

Studio 23 is a community gallery space that opens once a month to the public. We have regular group shows that feature local Alameda and Bay Area artists. We also hold classes and workshops and special events. We help bring emerging artists into the public view, and connect the public with the local artists community.

The Red Door Collective: RDC consists of 3 galleries all within a very short walking distance between each other, including Studio 23 Gallery, Resistance Press & Ryan LaLonde Studios.

ARTPUSH

ARTPUSH is a non-profit 501(c)(3) based in Alameda. The organization serves to help promote and foster the arts across the entire island of Alameda.

Summary

We have over 100 local artists, vendors and makers.  We are currently supported by FLAX art supplies, & Alameda Municipal Power Company who are our primary sponsors. We are seeking to expand our support so we can increase our promotion and bring more visitors to this great free event.

This event is promoted heavily in Alameda, Oakland and the surrounding areas. We run an extensive print campaign that distributes posters & invites to over 100 locations. We have a very extensive online promotion program. Our Facebook event receives thousands of invites, tens of thousands of views and several hundred RSVPs.  Digifli works closely with ArtPush to promote artists and art events happening in the East Bay.
